PrestFest
Prestfest in Ayrshire are delighted to announce that Prestfest 2017, from 4-6 August , will be the fifth out of six Festivals which are entirely funded by the local business community in Prestwick. An amazing feat!
What Prestfest is About
The organisers have managed through the good will of many acts and PA companies to pay everyone involved some level of expenses or fee and they are thankful for THAT support too.
Over the weekend we hope the community of Prestwick and tourists will enjoy our most eclectic bills yet so hopefully be a little something for everyone. Prestfest will launch from the Wick at 6pm on the Friday. Bringing the Festival to a close, we have Esperanza, Scotland’s favourite Ska band, also in The Wick on the Sunday.
The overall festival is now being managed by local musicians Scott Russell, Rikki McKay and Andy Strachan from local promotion team Apeman Music. All events are free this year and weather permitting we wil have music, art and Samba on the Main Street.
The RAFA Club on the beachfront is on board for the first time ans highlight of the weekend there will be local tribute favourites Cheat Loaf, led by Prestwick musicians Shad Love and Dave Lee.
Once again a small team of buskers will play in a few shops who have helped with sponsorship, including regular pop up venues Emporium and Home & Glorious. Some fundraising will take place over the weekend with a view to raising some funds for 2018. The Prestfest committee would like to wish everyone a fun filled and trouble free weekend and would appreciate any sharing of pictures or videos of the acts to the Prestfest Facebook page.
